Does your kitchen feel industrial? Or is it fresh and inviting?
Is the best thing about your kitchen the view from your sink window?
Why not bring some of that outdoorsy freshness inside.
Green is a great color for your kitchen. Natural, healthy, & balanced is the mood you’ll set when you add green to your room.
You may be wondering how to spruce up a kitchen.
Don’t worry, I’ve got you!
I know… so many cupboards! Is there room for art? There may be. You may have a breakfast nook or an adjacent eating space that may have some wall space for a cool work of art.
Or perhaps there’s room above your oven?
Or you could get creative…
One step in a room makeover is to remove what isn’t useful. I removed a stand-alone cupboard that wasn’t needed and created wall space where I put a painting and a corkboard full of loved ones’ pictures.
You could get bold & dramatic and paint your cupboards green. (I really did this once in my first home 😏)
Or keep it simple with a houseplant or a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Sometimes the smallest touch can have a big impact.

Artist I Admire: Jaanika Talts
“Symphony” acrylic on canvas
One of my favorite artists is Jaanika Talts, an Estonian artist. She creates abstracts and surreal landscapes with bold, vibrant colors so it’s no wonder I love her work.
Check out her website HERE
It’s pretty cool.
Fun Fact About Me
Plum is my favorite color. Orange is a very close 2nd, but I used to not like it at all.
When my daughter was learning her colors, orange was the first one she learned. Weird, right? But it quickly became her favorite color and she had to have everything orange. We eventually even painted her room orange.
Seeing so much orange all the time really grew on me. I love how it makes me feel inspired and lively.
Orange is no longer one of her favorite colors but it sure is mine.
Do you like orange? Leave a comment and let me know! While you’re at it, let me know what else you would like to know about me. Thanks!
Art quote of the week:
“Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life.”
~ John Lubbock, The Pleasures of Life
How does art color your life? Take some time this weekend to notice.

Meet the Artist
Hello! I’m Lisa. I use soft pastels to create bold, vibrant abstract paintings for extraordinary people who wish their home inspired them to live the life of their dreams.
I believe art & color have the power to influence our attitude & energy and, therefore, our actions.
I help you use color & design to purposefully create a home in which you feel empowered so you can create your genius in every room of your home.
I am inspired by color & nature and am lucky to live in Washington State, near the ocean, where nature is abundant & vibrant.
I have been creating art in some form my whole life and have been painting with soft pastels since 2003. I am continuously learning how to use color and design to create a space in which you feel inspired & encouraged to live intentionally.
I am thoughtful & bold in my approach to creating one-of-a-kind pieces that speak to your soul.
When I am not painting I can usually be found enjoying my family, driving a school bus, or daydreaming with my cat Melvin.
