A few weeks ago when I came up with the idea for this week’s blog, I had no idea how grateful I would actually be for my brain in this very moment.
I miss my brain. Yep, it’s gone. I don’t know where it goes sometimes, but it’s definitely not fully in my skull. Most of it’s there, but the reasoning part, the decision making part, and the motivation part have taken a vacation.
I am surprised I am even writing this post right now. What I really wanted to do was say “sorry, I’m not feeling well…please enjoy this post from the archives”, and repost something that was already written. And I almost did.
But it really is perfect timing
I’m sick. Not flu sick, but more than just a stuffy nose sick. I’m the kind of sick where you are able to move around and do the dishes or laundry (or write a blog post), but instead you continue to sit and watch HGTV all day because you can’t even decide what movie you want to watch.
I hate this kind of sick. It reminds me of when I was pregnant. It feels as if my brain is led by the Thestrals from Harry Potter, or some other invisible force, perhaps hormones, and all I can do is hang on to the reigns.
I don’t know if that is even making sense, but whatever. I’ll try to make my point.
What I mean to say
Our brains are amazing tools; the most sophisticated computers. We can reason, plan, and choose. This is what I originally wanted to expand on, but of course now the thoughts aren’t coming easily. I should have taken notes. Funny, but no, I took my brain for granted, trusting I would remember what I wanted to say when the time came.
All I know is that our brains are capable of amazing things. I wanted to remind you of that, and bring awareness so that you can say thank you to your brain.
You never know when it’ll decide it needs a vacation.
