(Scroll down a little to find this weeks poll)
Does the decor in your living room support the type of life you want to live in this room? Have you ever asked yourself that question?
If not, start here: What do you do in your living room? Have deep conversations? Game nights, movies, & TV? Perhaps some arguments take place and punishments are dished out in this room.
Now think about what kind of ambiance you want to create here; how do you want to feel? How do you want others to feel?
Comfort and safety are the two that come to my mind first. I want my whole family to feel loved and accepted. I want a soothing vibe in my living room that invites honesty and a calm presence.
I find decorating my living room in mostly cool colors – greens, blues, or purples achieves that goal.
I also like to add pops of warm colors, especially oranges. Orange in a predominately cool room reminds me of an inviting fire; comfortable and warm. And there is a hue of orange that compliments any green, blue, or purple.
Your real-life living room may look a whole lot different than mine. You may throw parties every weekend and want a completely different vibe. Totally fine! You do you!
I invite you to consider whether your living room decor is aligned with your living intentions.

Testimonial from Lori B.
“I love all the colors in “Brighter Day” and it definitely brightens our entry hallway!
It brightens my day, too!
Thank you for your lovely, colorful inspiration for our home!”

Fun Fact About Me:
I started painting as a stay-at-home mom in 2003.
When my oldest daughter was born in 2003 I quit my job to stay home with her.
Once we got into a routine I discovered I needed a hobby. She slept a lot!
I’ve always been artistic and love to create things. I hadn’t painted much as a kid but I thought it would be fun to try.
I started playing with watercolor paints. They were fun but I quickly became frustrated with the warping paper.
I tried soft pastels next and fell in love with the vibrancy and the blend-ability.
I also learned that when life happened and I had to quickly abandon my painting, nothing was ruined (except maybe my flow).
Soft pastels won me over and I’ve stuck with them ever since.
I would like to try acrylics someday… perhaps when I have more free time.
For now, I am still loving my soft pastels.
Leave a comment and let me know what else you would like to know about me. Thanks!
Quote of the week:
“It is how we choose what we do, and how we approach it, that will determine whether the sum of our days adds up to a formless blur, or to something resembling a work of art.”
~Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi

Meet the Artist
Hello! I’m Lisa Mae.
I use soft pastels to create bold, vibrant abstract paintings for extraordinary people who wish their home inspired them to live the life of their dreams.
I believe art & color have the power to influence our attitude & energy and, therefore, our actions. I want to help you create a space in which you feel energized, inspired, & ready to unleash your genius.
I also create one-of-a-kind pieces that speak to your soul. Together, we’ll find your style and create an amazing piece that will inspire & delight you!
I have been creating art in some form my whole life and have been painting with soft pastels since 2003. I am inspired by color & nature and am lucky to live in Washington State, near the ocean, where nature is abundant & vibrant.
I have three cats, I love historical fiction novels, and my side gig is a school-bus driver.
