(Scroll down a little to find this weeks poll)
Let’s be honest. Who uses your guest bedroom the most? Is it your cat?
If you’ve got a cat, they very well may be the most frequent guest, especially if said cat is shy. If this is the case, your furry friend may just want a comfy place to lay and a safe place to hide and not give a lick about the decor.
However, you may host guests that would appreciate more than just a fluffy blanket. I imagine you would like them to feel welcomed, comfortable, and relaxed.
Cool colors are calming. Blue and green invoke trust and safety. Purple is sophisticated and gives your guest a sense of importance.
Therefore, my pick for a guest bedroom would be a beautiful nature or abstract painting with shades of blue, purple, and/or green.
You can keep the walls more neutral with a medium shade of gray or cream. Or, if you’re a bit bold, you could paint the walls a lighter shade of a sunny yellow!
If your guests are happy and comfortable staying with you, you will be delighted to host them again and again, creating fond memories for all.

Artwork I Admire
“Summer on the Coast” by Lisa Elley
Lisa Elley is an award-winning pallet knife artist in the Bay Area in California. I love the colors Lisa uses and the depth and texture created by the method of pallet knife painting. When I get around to playing with a new medium, I would love to try pallet knife painting. Looks so fun!

Beautiful paintings!
Fun Fact About Me:
I am a cat person all the way! I have 3 cats. Melvin is six years old. Velma & Maeve are 10 weeks old. So much fun! They play hard and crash hard.
I have almost always had at least one cat. I have never owned a dog. I think the only way I would ever own a dog is if I (or a family member) needed a service dog.
Not that I don’t like (some) dogs, I just don’t want one.
Leave a comment and let me know what else you would like to know about me. Thanks!
Quote of the week:
“We all know that Art is not truth. Art is a lie that makes us realize truth, at least the truth that is given us to understand.“

Meet the Artist
Hello! I’m Lisa Mae.
I use soft pastels to create bold, vibrant abstract paintings for extraordinary people who wish their home inspired them to live the life of their dreams.
I believe art & color have the power to influence our attitude & energy and, therefore, our actions. I want to help you create a space in which you feel energized, inspired, & ready to unleash your genius.
I also create one-of-a-kind pieces that speak to your soul. Together, we’ll find your style and create an amazing piece that will inspire & delight you!
I have been creating art in some form my whole life and painting with soft pastels since 2003. I am inspired by color & nature and am lucky to live in Washington State, near the ocean, where nature is abundant & vibrant.
I have three cats, I love historical fiction novels, and my side gig is a school-bus driver.
